In AI systems, the condition where a model, assistant, or workflow is disconnected from the tools, data, or surrounding processes it would need to act usefully. Isolation often limits practical value even when the model itself is strong.
Example: "The assistant could explain the process well, but in isolation it could not access the inventory system or complete the task."
