guardrail (noun)
Rules, filters, constraints, checks and balances, built into any part of an AI system and the environment in which the AI operates, with the purpose of keeping its behavior within prescribed and acceptable bounds.
Example: "A guardrail prevented the company's AI chatbot from ever quoting a specific price without a human sign-off."
